People, people, people

So Corrin called me last minute today to ask if I wanted to go to a dinner party she was having for some friends from church. I had a really busy day (school/homework/errands), so that sounded nice... and I was excited to meet some more people from my church.

So I get there, I walk in the door, and suddenly I'm surrounded by 4 guys... and no one else was in the room. I was kind of taken aback since I knew none of them and none of them knew me... I didn't even think to introduce myself until one of them reached out to shake my hand.

I heard Corrin's voice in the kitchen, so after those introductions, I moved in there and found another female (thank goodness!). In the end it ended up being Corrin and her husband plus 3 guys and 2 other girls besides me. And it was sooo much FUN! It was great to learn about all of them and their backgrounds and it was fun to let new people hear where I'm from.

By the end of the night (after discussing many topics from Myers-Briggs Personality to pet stories), I found that I was most attracted to the one guy who was most introverted... and only secondarily attracted to the guy who was most extroverted. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!!??? Well, anyway, I'm very happy to have met some guys because I definitely need the break from the estrogen.

Oh and just so none of you worry, the third guy has been eliminated from my consideration... here's why: He was sitting at the end of the table next to me and he was talking about his graduate studies in German Literature, so I asked him if he would ever want to live in Germany and he said very flatly, "No, I prefer to live in the States." So I then asked, "So if money were no issue, where would be your dream place to live in the US?" "Chicago, St. Louis, or [he named another city right around here]. I'm a Midwest guy. I don't like the ocean." Aaaaand that's when he lost me. Ha ha.

Tomorrow night a couple of the girls are coming over to have a little movie night. And since I just got my box of all my movies (they didn't fit in the car...), I'm very excited. And I've been wanting to make rice krispy treats.... and ya... so I'm very excited. As long as I balance school work with lots of people, I think I'll be okay. :D

Holy Slander! Send that guy my way! Maybe he wants to live in an even smaller town, out on the prairie, surrounded my corn.....

Nevermind. I agree with Katie. He does sound boring.

And I got your phone message and was touched and delighted! No I am not a phone person, but I am a better phone person that some, and more interesting than most. And my mother and I just realized we have a verison plann for 1000 min a month and we DON'T EVEN USE THEM!!! So we have to use them, because if mi madre changes our minutes, that adds a year to the contract and we don't want that. So now, I have to talk to people. You should be so lucky.

And we should go for a ride in that pimped out car in Katie's dream. Maybe this time Ellen will come too.
