Don't Lick Your Lips

...because they will freeze and fall of!

MAN, ITS COLD!!!!

You know how in California, you can find a frozen puddle on the ground early in the morning...? But as soon as you step on it, the icy layer on top falls apart and starts to melt away... WELL! Here, the puddles are frozen through... all day long. If you step on it, nothing will crack because there is no water beneath and you may just slip and fall... so weird... and even if there were no other "cultural" differences... this would be culture shock enough for little old me.

I remember walking to school in 6th grade. For some reason, that was the year that I started wearing jeans again (previously they had only been worn while camping... stretch pants were my thing... sad, I know)... but I wore only black or white jeans. I have to say that it was pretty ingenious... and also probably very outdated.

Well, my friends in 6th grade (who didn't really know what to do with me most of the time... its still a wonder why they put up with me) decided to give me a make-over. So they went through my closet and found the little knee-length floral skirts that I had worn with biker shorts in elementary school and decided that I should wear them again.

And weird little me, who usually runs in the opposite direction of peer pressure, decided to listen to them... and I think that lasted for about a week because even though it was California, walking in the winter ...in the early morning ...IN A SHORT SKIRT is not the best way to stay comfortable.

I still remember the numb-stinging-cold feeling that I would get on my legs everyday... and now those memories rush back to me as I walk to campus because it is SOOO cold here that without long underwear (which I need to buy ASAP), my jeans feel like nothing more than a short cotton skirt.
