So I met a bunch of people at Orientation this morning, but its hard to really talk when they keep interrupting you with seminars... how rude of them to explain to me everything I need to know for grad school!
One of the people there (there are about 30 of us starting this semester) needed help getting Ethernet at her apartment... and since I had just figured it out and she seemed a little shy about doing everything on the internet (but that's what they make you do here), I volunteered to go with Holly to the computer lab and show her the link path that I took.
We chatted a little and then she got it figured out, and since she didn't need me anymore, I started to walk home. Well, I called my mom on the way to tell her about the day, and I got distracted at the crosswalk to my street and forgot to push the button, so I stood there for a while before I realized why the light wasn't letting me go.
All of a sudden, there's Holly. She lives on my street! So I visited her apartment and she visited mine, and we ended up talking for so long that I just decided to make dinner for both of us. Then we watched a movie and talked some more. It was great! And we're both very excited to have someone to walk to school with in the morning... wow, I feel like I'm five again... all excited about my first friend at school... ha ha!
P.S. Bon Apetit is following me! They catered our lunch today at Orientation! WEIRD!!!
