Michal no talkie

I have almost no voice. My throat started feeling weird last weekend... and I was coughing a bit on Wednesday and Thursday, but Thursday night my voice almost left me completely. I was devastated of course because I have become rather attached to my voice. In fact, without my voice I can't do my job... like answering the phone and stuff... hmm... that doesn't really work.

But thankfully, one of my friends at group Thursday night told me about this medicated tea for throats. I drank some that night and doped myself up with NyQuil and slept rather well. Then, I drank 10 cups yesterday at work and I was able to talk enough to answer phones and stuff so that was wonderful.

But last night I didn't sleep so well. My coughing is bad and there was only one dose of NyQuil left (when I cough I can't sleep without 2 doses a night), so when it wore off, I woke up almost immediately. So today, my voice is worse... but my temp is actually better. I had a temperature of about 99 a couple nights ago (but that's about a degree and a half higher than my norm). But this morning I woke up with a 98.2 temp, which is still higher than normal, but not very noticeable (my normal is about 97.8).

Anyway, so I feel like I'm yelling every time I say something... but I like talking... I don't want to have to stop... but if I want to have a normal voice for work next week I need a new rule: Michal no talkie.

Oh no! I hope you get better soon! Guess who updated? You'll be so proud of me; it's long and actually meaningful.

When I lost my voice one time in 8th grade I remember everybody being so surprised and then Brian Zollweg looked heavenward and said "Praise GOD!" and I almost cried.
