Hurricane Wilma

I just keep thinking of the Flintstones... I loved that show...

Anyway, there's this Hurricane... and its basically headed straight for us. And its the strongest hurricane recorded in the Atlantic... to read more, click here or here.

Needless to say, Bill & Roni (who have to stay in town because they're paramedics) are sending me and the boys out of Florida. We'll be flying to Bill's parents' house in Ohio tomorrow. So much for weekend plans... stupid Wilma....

You sound so calm about this...."stupid Wilma." When does your flight leave? How long are you going to be there? What are Roni and Bill going to do to be safe?

Sweetie, Sweetie... its under control... I'm packing all my unreplaceables and protecting everything else from water (even though its not even terribly likely that the storm will harm the house), and we're leaving at 8am... we'll be gone until next Friday, and there are plenty of shelters here if necessary. They're not even evacuating our area yet because they're predicting it will significantly decrease in power before it gets here, this is just a precaution. Please don't worry.

Ohio? Man! We were so close!

One of the main reasons its Ohio instead of California is because there isn't a direct flight from here to San Jose... and I'm not changing planes with two 3-yr-olds.

I'm glad you and the boys will be safe, Mike. Stupid Wilma, indeed.
