It's New

I'm spending my first night in my new apartment tonight... Amy and I are officially roommates. :)

We went shopping at Target for a cable-splitter and of course ended up buying oh, so much more... I now have the coolest shower curtain ever! I was hemming and hawing over two of them, but the monkeys and the palm trees lost to the map of the world. He he... I love it! :D

The TV works... and we even have cable... that's still such a novelty to me. All my appliances are here, but most of my other stuff still needs to be organized or trashed before I can be fully moved in... plus there is the whole issue of the fact that I have three pieces of furniture that I need a truck to transport... but surprisingly I'm not that worried.

It was my first day of practicum today. I'm working at a non-profit that does an after-school drug prevention and capacity-building program. It was a crazy day... I had a headache all day long (something that never has happened to me before)... and by 2pm, I was so close to calling it a day... but then we started working with the kids, and the next thing I knew it was 6pm and time to go home.

They're a handful... and you feel like you're not making any impact... but I loved every minute of it... even with a headache...

I drove to the new apartment right afterward and collapsed on the floor... but I wouldn't have spent my day any other way... gee, I think I'm in the right field... now I just need to add more hours to the day so that I can sleep and recuperate... must work on that one...
