So the beans were a hit. Shaun had garlic powder... a WHOLE LOT of it, and I added salt as well and they turned out pretty good.
My nachos, though they took forever to put together, we very beautiful... and tasty.
We sat around and talked... and played games... and interrupted games to talk... and poor Qi Qi tried to keep up.
It was so great to just sit and get to know Jonathan, Emily, and Shaun a little better. I seemed to have found it easy to connect with Britney during our sparse moments at church together, but the others were harder to draw out in Bible Study time alone.
So ya... it was great... wonderful... marvelous.... and to top it off: ITS SNOWING!!!! I had already decided that if it was going to be this cold (mid twenties) for this long (more than a week) it better snow. And it did. And it will snow a lot more over the next two days... I'M SO EXCITED!!!!
Holly says that I'll hate the snow by next winter... but I'm holding out and betting that my childlike glee over the strangest things will win out even then.
P.S. They do sell refried beans in the Midwest... I have now been directed to two places that are sure to sell them. It is good to know that this crisis will not have to be repeated.
