Michal's Soapbox

I casually opened up one of my cousin's fashion magazines this morning because I didn't feel like getting out of bed quite yet. I was flipping through it, and I noticed an article about the stages of love in a relationship. This sort of thing always interests me, so I decided to read it.

First, I skimmed all the titles of the stages, and as my eyes crossed over to the second page, the enlarged quote in the middle caught my attention. It read:
"Once you've managed to put your clothes back on, its time to unwrap your emotions."
-Glamour Magazine December 2006
My mouth fell to the floor, and it was all I could do not to yell or scream and wake up my sleeping cousins. Of course, I knew that this was how most of the world functioned, I just didn't know it was their MODEL!!!

Seriously! SERIOUSLY? SERIOUSLY!?!?!

First of all, why would you engage in such an intimate act with someone who you don't really even know well enough to be sure that you really like them as a person? Sure, chemistry, attraction, blah blah blah...

Whatever happened to waiting? "Whatever happened to taking the time to get to know someone first?" (who said that and in what movie?) This truly can't be anything more than a recipe for regret and heartache.

Seriously! SERIOUSLY!?!?!

I just... ya... I just don't even know what else to say...
