So, J (my cousin from Arizona) and his fiance Nikki came for the week to teach the band kids at my high school how to march... it was a lot of fun to have them around, but it gave me less time for other things... like e-mail and blogging.
Okay, so the new job... I'm at the same company, but I'm in a different building doing data stuff. They get at least 100 orders (or changes to orders) for parts to be sent all over the world each day. They input the orders, print it, and then I have to check every piece of info before its swhipped so that everything is accurate: date, order number, purchase order number, address to bill to, address to ship to, buyer name, phone number, and e-mail, engineer name, phone number and e-mail, product number, product tool number, product rev number (I still don't know what all these words mean, but I know what they're supposed to be), date product requested, date we promised, date we ship it, number ordered, price of product, tax, tool and test charges, program manager, payment agreement, shipping method, carrier for shipment, freight terms, company code, type of product (on 4 different levels), type order, military or rush order, shipping instructions, shipping account numbers, refreence numbers, their part number....
And on it goes... for each order... I check each detail, so that if something is incorrect, I can return it to the person who entered it... and then after doing this for hours my eyes fall out of their sockets... because THEN all these orders get put in labeled folders and then I have to file them... and its a foreign filing system... but at least its different from checking... and checking.... and checking... over and over .....and over.
But they pay me... and its not so bad... I'm basically being paid for being a detail orriented person. And doing work for someone else has always been easier than doing work for myself... so focusing (as long as I take regular breaks) hasn't really been a problem.
And then this week, Katie's family is coming again because she's moving into school on Friday... YAYAYAYAYAYAY! And then there's a wedding on Saturday... ooohh I should look up their registry... and then the next weekend I'll be in Sacramento visiting a friend from school and then going to the Renaissance fair with her and her friends.... yay!
So ya... I've been a tad busy... but I like it.... the only problem is grad school stuff.... but I did get the color tint glasses perscription this week so I should be getting those glasseds in about a month... that should make reading a lot easier... :-D
