Today for at least 8 hours, I will be working with the Mexico cook crew (those who are available, anyway) to work on the pre-cooking that needs to be done before we leave on April 6th. We do all our own cooking on this trip for the 600 people that will be camped out for a week to build houses in Tijuana.
Its definitely a different experience to be on the cook crew as opposed to building the houses during that week. I have to say that though my muscles got more of a work-out building the houses, being on the cook crew takes more out of you because of the long hours (we're up earlier and we stop working later in the day)... and don't forget that your feet take most of the beating.
But here I go again, putting my unemployment to use by being available to make this prep process go quicker. Though I have to say that I did apply for two jobs yesterday: go me! They're both at fancy hotels in Downtown San Jose. Too bad the Fairmont doesn't have any openings right now... I've been in love with that hotel since I was really little.
Actually, I've been in love with all hotels (especially the big and glamorous ones) since I was pretty little. I majorly embarrassed my grandparents once when we were staying at the big hotel in Yosemite because I rode the elavator pushing the floor buttons for everyone who came in. I don't know how old I was but it was fun! :-)
So ya... I really want to work at the front desk of a hotel... is that weird? Maybe it almost fits in with my mild inclination towards bartending. LOL

I love the Fairmont!
I would drink at a bar you tended.
You have a mild inclination towards bartending too? I thought I was the only one. :)
