Today, my roommates (Heather and Ranae) and I went to David's Bridal to look at wedding dresses for Ranae (who is getting married next summer). The first one she tried on was okay, but not what she wanted. The second one was really cool and almost what she wanted. And the third one was perfection. We had to try really hard to keep the saleslady from selling us this $125 tiara. She really wanted us to buy it and we thought she was crazy. Oh and she told us that the veil was a must-have ($150) because the silver stitching on the edges matched the detail on the dress. The veil was cute because it had little sequences glues all over it, but it was totally something we could make ourselves and definitely not worth the price... but we still had to keep telling her no. I know it’s her job, but I just wouldn't be able to act like that as a salesman knowing what a rip-off it was. So ya, Ranae has a dress, now, and its hanging in our closet. And she's very happy about it.
For dinner, we had a large get-together because a friend of Andy's (Carol) came from Azusa to visit. We helped Andy cook for all 12 people and it was a little crazy, but definitely fun. I actually found out that Carol Knows a couple of the kids from King's that I'm friends with. It was pretty funny. After dinner, we played a few games and I have to confess my utter failure at playing Mafia. I just can't do it. I can't stand being accused when I'm innocent and never really being able to defend myself. And I'm definitely the worst Mafia member ever. When we play in small groups there's only one Mafia member at a time and you're totally on your own. And I hate lying and trying to look innocent... it just doesn't work when people keep looking at you suspiciously because they know you're an open book and totally horrible at playing the game. So tonight when they dealt the first hand and I was supposed to be Mafia (which would have been fine if we had already played a game or two, but I just couldn't handle the pressure of the first game of the night), so I asked for a re-deal and Curt knew right away that I was Mafia and I didn't want to be. So on the upside, they had to re-deal at that point and I didn't have to be Mafia... but on the downside, I'm a total wimp. Oh, well.
