New Housemates

I bought myself two African Dwarf Frogs for my birthday. I've owned them before but the two I had in college were bought from Walmart (mistake #1), there were two of them in a very small tank (mistake #2), and I was following the care instructions for a single occupant tank (mistake #3). Needless to say, they didn't live very long, but I loved them dearly. So dearly that when my floor mates noticed that the second one had died, they stopped me in the hall before I could get to my room to prepare me for what I would find.

R.I.P. Yogi and Booboo

So now I have two more and they are comfortably set up in a much larger tank. But now I want to name them and I don't think any names will live up to the last pair.

One is darker than the other, so my first thought was Salt and Pepper... but that doesn't mean anything to anyone but me, so scratch that.

For a while I wanted to give them Mc-names... (in the spirit of McDreamy and McSteamy), but now it feels that frogs, though adorable, are not quite worthy of a Mc-name...

One of them has done nothing but hide and the other has been tentatively exploring since I set up their tank yesterday afternoon, and when I looked up name pairs, I came across Hide and Seek... but though fitting, that sounds a little dumb to me.

Chip and Dale is the best pair yet... especially since they're so similar and I could never remember which was Chip and which was Dale, but I knew it had something to do with the color of their nose and the number of teeth they had.

Well, I guess they will remain Anonymous for a little while longer...
