I should be sleeping

...but of course, I'm awake

...with unfinished homework and a bedtime three and a half hours passed

...thoughts and questions that will not be answered anytime soon

...hunger pains that would be better ignored

...sad songs in my heart and head

The things that give current comfort are

~the discovery of another ally at school

~the knowledge that God knows my current desires and how they will change or be fulfilled in the future

~the fact that God is good... even though I'm still trying to figure out what that means.
