Christmas Eve

What a magical night...

When I was a kid, the magic came from the anticipation of presents the next morning. But as I've grown older, it has become more and more the company and family around me.

This year, my grandma and uncle were supposed to fly out from Illinois. Unfortunately, my grandma got a blood clot in her leg and was unable to fly, so my uncle stayed with her.

Our house has never been this empty on Christmas. If we're here, its filled with at least some additional family guests... but this year it is just us three. Sure, we'll be going to our friends' house tomorrow afternoon, but seriously, you cannot celebrate Christmas with three people... that's, like, an extrovert's nightmare!

Well, my mom had planned to give packages of goodies we had made to some of our friends, but she didn't have everything ready this morning when we saw Mason's family at church. So Deborah (Mason's mom) just told us to come over whenever (even with their house filled to bursting with family from out of town).

So this evening, we had planned to visit after they had eaten dinner... but as per their usual way, things did not occur on a schedule. So when we got there, they were just sitting down to dinner, and our presence was requested.

It was a total blast! I haven't laughed that hard for that long in a while. We had crackers, so we were all wearing paper crowns and playing with funny toys. Mason and his brother are always crazy, and when you add Mason's roommate, Jay (who went to Magic Mountain with us a year and a half ago), they just go crazy... his cousins and I could not stop laughing... ah... good times.

Oye! So, I guess I didn't have to celebrate Christmas with such a small crowd. I love adopting myself into other families!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! :D
