Random Amusement

If you don't find these stories amusing... that's okay with me because at the time I was extremely diverted. :-D

This morning I recieved a phone call from a conference meeting. I heard several voices on the line, but the loudest one asked for Steve (one of the top people on the food chain here)... so I transfered him. Two minutes later, they called again, and through the voices I heard a request to be transfered to Steve's cell phone. I complied and released the call.

As I hung up the phone, guess who came down the stairs behind me... none other than Steve himself. It took a moment for me to be sure that I had indeed just transfered a phone call to the person standing before me, and I almost said something to him... figuring that he didn't have his cell phone on him because he wasn't on the phone. I didn't get a chance to speak, though, because he set something on the counter, said he'd be back for it, and then walked away... and just as he was about to pass into the next room, I heard his cell phone ring... and I have to say that I totally cracked up... and silencing my laugh made me tear up.... I really don't know why I was so amused.. but there you have it.

Security called me because they had someone trying to deliver a truck (not a company truck, a personal vehicle). They wanted to send the truck guys to the front to me, but they didn't have a name for the person who had purchased the truck... so who do I call? Nicola (head security gal) suggested that I make an anouncement on the speaker, but that only covers half of the building and it really didn't seem appropriate to me.

So the guy walks into the lobby a few minutes later and I ask him to call someone or somehow find a name because without that I can't do much. The second guy walks in and starts complaining about how they were given the wrong address (1141). I perk up because I know that's not our address, so I ask him if a company name was given and he said no. That means that its definitely not for us... so now I knew that all I had to do was go to mapquest and search for the address.

Well, they were right, there's no 1141 on this street... however, just around the corner on the Ct. that shares a name with our street there is a 1141. So, voila, I fixed their very strange predicament. Yay!

But honestly, who has a truck delivered to a business district without a contact name? Seriously!

I heard these stories already. I got the first edition. I felt special then, but now I'm just bored because there's nothing new.
