So... I was part of the record breaking Rascal Flatts crowd at the concert in Shoreline last night (in the company of Emily, Liana, Will & Tiffany... and even Jenn and a friend of her joined us). They opened with The Wreckers (who I didn't realize I love), but we missed them because the traffic was backed up for miles. Next came Gary Allen (who I already knew I loved, but love even more, now). Both CD's will be bought at the first available money-for-frivolous-enjoyment.
Then with the fall of darkness came the fabulous Rascall Flatts and the unmistakable smell of weed. Ew! But if you just sing louder and dance more its a lot easier to ignore... so that's what I did. They paused a lot in the middle of their set and I really enjoyed their entertainment (besides their songs that we've all memorized). They did a little drum battle between two members... they talked about how much they love the West Coast... and their was a PHENOMENAL fiddle player who did things I could not have imagined were possible... and then a piano solo... wow, it was awesome...
About then I decided that its a good thing they're famous because they're really talented, but its a shame that more of this talent is not really conveyed nor appreciated by the general public. I guess its just a treat for the concert-going fans... wow... ya... great... wonderful... AMAZING!
They finished off their set beautifully... their... ummm... what do you call it... its a... like a techy-light-show... well, it was really cool... very showy, but I think that was part of the fun... you don't get that kind of think when you pop the CD into your player (or scroll through your iPod playlist... whatever your preference). And of course we didn't want them to leave, so they came back for two more songs... signed autographs and held people's hands... it was cool... ya... but I definitely wouldn't want to be the one to clean up after the mob of extremely tipsy people... they're just crazy... but Rascall Flatts is crazy AWESOME! (that totally does not sound like something I'd say... oh well!)
