For those of you have seen how I procrastinate all my homework... reading books and writing papers... and you know how slow I read and how often I take breaks... well, I just found out that its not me... its not a lack of motivation... its a condition called Scotopic Sensitivity (aka Irlen Syndrome).
What that means is that the black and white on the page I'm reading constantly competes for my attention... thus making the words or objects appear to move. I always thought this was normal... ha ha... and now I understand why I like reading with a flashlight at night before I go to bed. It darkens the white on the page and makes it easier for me to read.
So I was tested with differently tinted colors over the white paper. And there's a bluish-grey that makes my eyes instantly relax and I begin to read with much more ease. It was really pretty freaky. And I was told that I won't get tired and I won't be so easily distracted anymore when I read.
So as soon as I can I'll be going to a doctor who can fit me with glasses that have the right color tint in them... so ya... its still a little hard for me to believe that this really was all something beyond my control and that I'm not just a procrastinating student with ADD-like symptoms. Whoo hoo! Yay for fixing my issues before graduate school.
P.S. Christmas was wonderful... I think my cousins are the only ones that I really let loose around because they're as crazy as I am... he he... gotta love family. But now I'm exhausted and I'll be falling into bed within the next hour.

Yeah, same here. Oh, and I'm Bapi by the way. And they wont let me sleep in your room! As for Boobis...there really is no great story; I accidently hit Natti's boob and thus Boobis was born. I think Bapi means granpa in greek so Tessa just became yaya or yiayia--i dunno how to spell it. Well, by the time you'll read this I will be stuck in the car with Brian and Mr. "I need some Tuna" pleading for peace and quiet......which I wont get. Goodnight Miguelito!
Oh em gee. Haha it was funny when you put the sheet over the screen, Miguelito.
And bring me some tuna. I'm hungry.
