I COOKED!

I've always liked the idea of being a good cook, and ya, I've made lots of cookies and stuff like that, but when it comes to making a meal in the kitchen, I've always been a little awkward and uncoordinated... except for mac n cheese, of course.

So, yesterday, Roni bought this colorful pasta that the boys wanted and today they asked me to cook it. Well, you can't just eat noodles for dinner, so instead of going for leftovers, I decided to be adventurous and tackle some of the shrimp in the freezer.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pasta sause so I decided to find out what ingredients I needed for alfredo sauce. So I put it all together... with certain things being daringly substituted for the things we didn't have... and made a mess in the process... but the sauce came out pretty well, but definitely different than I expected. And I've never cooked and shelled shrimp before so that was interesting, but I did it and I even timed everything right so that it was all hot at the same time... including the veggies. And the kids ate it up... Go me!
