It was totally surreal to be in SLO yesterday with a bunch of friends from home. It felt like we had entered a land of make-believe and we all pretended there was nothing else to occupy our time except each other. We went out for a late lunch at this really cool deli and then we went to the bookstore and bought chalk. We drew all over the sidewalk and street and just talked and lazed around. Then it started to sprinkle. The sprinkle turned to rain and we ran around in it for a while enjoying the weather, and then we all went into the cozy house with the fire. The boys barbecued for us and of course I pulled out my mini deck of cards. After dinner, we went out for frozen yogurt and then Liana and I had to leave because it was still rainy and dark, the roads were wet, and we didn't want to get back too late.
It was just completely wonderful to be away from school, to see people I usually only see on vacation, and to just pretend that we could do anything we wanted together without a care in the word for just one day.
Liana and I got back to SB around 11pm, and then Will came over to hang out. We ended up talking until 4am... so needless to say, I haven't been awake for very long.
It was very weird but when all is said and done, it was an absolutely wonderful day.
