Singleness Rocks!

I really love being single... I can do whatever I want and act however I want and I totally have all my time to myself. Now, when you are in a relationship you willingly give most of your extra time to the other person and love every minute of it... but I guess I'm just really enjoying this freedom.

Now, the one downside is that I don't have a date for GYRAD (Get Your Roommate A Date). Its this big group date event-thing that we have every semester. Its really fun and I always love going, but when you're single you have to "get a date." That proves much more difficult when you are newly single and all of your guy-friends know your ex and either don't want to make him uncomfortable or they have someone else in mind... so ya... I think I'll be going with my roommate Heather or something... oh well.

And I really have to turn off my "potential boy" radar... it developed around age 8 and I've been a slave to it ever since. When I'm not single, the "potential boy" position is filled, so the radar is automatically de-activated. But the problem is that I'm single again and my radar has been revived. God gave me a "reality 2x4" a couple days ago, though, so I'm fighting the radar and enjoying the freedom that I get from that.

Guys are cool and awesome and when you find the ones that make GREAT friends instead of just good friends, its really wise to keep them in the friends category in your mind because more often than not, you'll benefit more from your relationship with them if they're just a friend. And besides, God's in control of the result and He's got the bigger picture and we can all stand to learn and grow a little bit more before we start pairing off.

So ya... okay, I'm stepping off the soap-box now.

"Potential boy" radar. I like that. Hey, you should get a patent on that! Seriously, whenever someone says it they should have to pay you a fine (except me, since I just blew all my money on our shoe shopping fest)!

P.s. I'll memorize the area around Tustin Marketplace so we won't get lost next time!
