Regina

I finally called Regina today. She is the junior higher that I hang out with every week while I'm here at school. I've been meeting with her since my freshman year when she was in 5th grade. This year, she's in 8th grade and its totally weird for me.

I had planned to call her the second week of school, but everything's been so crazy I was just being bad and procrastinating. But I finally decided that enough was enough and I called her today. I'm picking her up from school tomorrow and we'll be hanging out for a couple hours.

I'm not quite sure what she'll want to do. In 5th grade she just wanted to climb trees, play soccer and beat up on the boys. As you can tell, she and I don't have too much in common, but we seem to continue to get along regardless. We both like pink (but she dresses more punk with pink), and we love cats. That sounds really shallow but we actually do find substantial things to talk about...

Recently, the issue has been that she wants me to take her and her friends to rated "R" movies. And despite the fact that its okay with their parents, it just bothers me because I don't think that there are very many rated "R" movies that hold any value for them (or for us for that matter...). And most of the time, I avoid those types of movies anyway for my own sake, so why would I take them if they're 8-9 years younger than me...? anyway... I'm done.

But I'm definitely excited to see her. When I was visiting LA a couple weeks before school started, I called her up because it was her birthday (and I usually miss it because I'm home for the summer), but I didn't hear back from her, so I still have her birthday gift to give her.
