Cat Fight

I went to bed around 12:30am last night, but I kept hearing a cat make the noises that mean that there's another cat and they're threatening each other. I was debating about whether or not to go out to the garage to make sure it wasn't Kiwi, my cat, and then I heard a bigger screeching-yelling-attacking noise. I decided that I wouldn't be able to rest easy unless I knew for sure that Kiwi wasn't involved.

I went out to the garage and she wasn't sleeping in her little bed like she usually is. Well, she's usually sleeping there during the day but probably not during the night... Anyway, I went out the side door and through the gate to the front yard. When I looked around, all I saw was Kiwi crouched down and hiding under the front of my car. She was staring at the neighbor's bushes next to our yard and she didn't look very "at ease."

I stood there for a moment waiting to see what she would do because I knew that whatever was attacking her (most likely another cat) wasn't going to come out with me standing there. Eventually, I think she came to the same conclusion and she walked out from under the car and over to me as if nothing was wrong and she just wanted attention.

As we walked back into the garage, she kept checking behind her to see if "it" was going to come back. I decided that I wanted her to come inside for the night (our cats usually sleep outside in the garage) because I was afraid that she would end up in another fight.

Once we got inside, it took her forever to settle down... and then she woke me up at 3am because she wanted out to go to the bathroom. I have to say that she is a very persistent alarm clock... if I could set her to actually respond at a specific time, that would be pretty cool.

So ya, that was my interesting night last night. I mentioned the incident to my dad and he said that there is this big grey cat that likes to pester Kiwi... so his guess is thats who it was. I really hope he leaves her alone.
